Following incessant boat mishaps and loss of life in Lagos water ways in his Lagos West senatorial district, Senator Solomon Adeola has donated 500 life jackets to boat operators while donating grants of N20, 000 to 50 market men and women to augment their trading activities.

In spite of dire economic situation of the country I will continue to remember those who sent me to Abuja as their senator. It is also part of fulfilling my campaign promises to the people” While calling on all boat operators to insist that all their passengers wear life vest while in their boat to eliminate loss of lives in case of mishaps, he urged them not to fall foul of the laws and various directives guiding boat operation on the water ways.

“ The cash donation to market men and women is the first set for beneficiaries as I am going to make it a regular grant for different sets of market men and women to assist in their business” he stated.

Responding on behalf of all the beneficiaries, Chief Wellington Akingbola, the state Chairman of the Association of Boat Operators in Lagos State said there is no doubt that Senator Adeola is effectively representing them as this donations shows that he always have his people at heart adding that boat operators in the riverine areas of Ajeromi- Ifelodun, Ojo, Badagry, Amuwo-Odofin and parts of Alimosho will benefit from the lifejacket donation.
