ANSAR-UD-DEEN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY IN GRAND STYLE

History was made  in Lagos as the first Ansar-ud-deen College of Education clocks ten. The event which took place at the banquet hall of National Arts Theatre Iganmu Lagos commenced around 1:30 noon.In his remark, chairman of the governing council(ADCOED) Chief Tunde Fanimokun emphasized the need for people to embrace the college of education. He stated that the college is not meant for muslim students alone, but for everyone who wants the best for his or her child without any religious discrimination. The high point of the event was the launching of Seven hundred and fifty million education endowment fund.
In his speech,the Chairman of governing board  Chief Tunde Fanimokun,titled his address of welcome as ,A defining moment in our journey@  Age 10 in October 2014, stated that, the college had realized the sum of two hundred and sixty six million naira(266million) out of the said seven hundred and fifty million naira(750million) needed for the building of their permanent site.He did not failed to mention some of distinguished Nigerians who has passed through Ansar-ud- deen school in life,some of whom were present Governor of Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr.Godwin Emefiele and Dr.Mike Adenuga (jnr) (GCON)who were attended Ansar-du-deen primary school,Igbosere,Lagos and Ansar-ud-deen Grammar school,RandleAvenue,surulere,Lagos respectively.
Chief Fanimokun went into reminsence that Philanthropy gesture  is not alien to Ansar-ud-deen society,says,It is our pride to state that philanthropy is a cultural heritage,a fundamental virtue an enviable pedigree of our great Society.It is a challenge to the present and future generation of ANSARS.
The Chairman of Ansar-ud-deen college of Education equally reminded the august gathering about two accomplished and reputable Chief Launchers of their time ,which each were of blessed memory in person of  late chief M.K.O. Abiola and late  Alhajj  chief (Dr) Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo,the baba adinni of Nigeria,whom the chairman referred to as his mentor and benefactor their philanthropic  contributions to the growth of humanity.He now says that  at ADCOED there is encouragement for special studies and training programmes in entrepreneurship and philanthropy as vital tools of sustainable development and growth for a greater tomorrow.
Chairman governing council single out the two chief launchers in person of olori Giwa GIiwa,Tijani Tunde Folawiyo and Admiral Jubrila Ayinla for their combined donation of 33million naira which greatly facilitated our journey to date at ADCOED,  Fanimokun echoed it to the admiration of the those eminents personality present.
Equally in his speech,Fanimokun laid emphasis on philanthropic cum entrepreneurial agenda of ADCOED as a special assignment during the second decade of 2014 to 2024,these make him to solicit for assistance, support, grants,sponsorships and  or intervention funds.

The Chairman of the event, who is the national president of Ansar-ud-deen society of Nigeria, Alhajj Lateef Olufemi Okunnu, in his remark, stated that Ansar-ud-deen Institute of Arabic and Islamic studies was established in 1982 and got affiliated to university of Ibadan in 1989.He said the school was upgraded to college of education which is now known as Ansar-ud-deen college of education. He then urged the gathering to donate both financially and morally to the course of this project.
While delivering his speech, the provost of the college, Prof T.G.O Gbadamosi emphasized the need for muslim faithful to embrace the college, he said the college was given 100 full percent accreditation as far back as year 2006.He said the college will soon be offering courses in chemistry,physics, biolology and foreign languages. Integrity Reporters(IR)  therefore learnt that the school had produced about one thousand five hundred graduates since the commencement of the college in 2004.The roll calls of dignitaries present at the launching were: Alhajj Lateef Olufemi Okunnu (SAN,OFR), H.E Sheikh A.H Abou (Baba Adinni of Lagos),representative of Osolo Of Isolo His royal Majesty Oba Abdulkabir Agbabiaka,Sheikh abdul Rahman Olanrewaju Ahmad(National Missioner),Alhajj(chief Imam)Zakariyah Muh’d, Alhajj M.A Bakrin,Alhajja(mrs) J.T Abass,Alhajj Ligali G.Agbomeji(chairman ADS Lagos branch).Alhajja(Egnr) F.Masha.
