Nigeria’s female football star, Asisat Oshoala has won the inaugural BBC Africa female footballer of the year.
Asisat Oshoala who won the best player of the FIFA female under 20 tournament last summer in Canada also won the best female footballer on the continent of Africa.
Oshoala was also a major influence in the senior Nigeria team who won the African Women’s Championship later in 2014, ensuring their qualification for this summer’s World Cup.
The youngster, who is the first African to feature in the Women’s Super League, says former Reds striker Luis Suarez is an inspiration because of his ruthlessness in front of goal.
Asisat is presently with the Liverpool ladies where she registered her first goal in her second game.
