Lagos West 2019: Senator Adeola Yayi Submits Form

-Pledges to continue effective representation

The senator representing the largest senatorial district in Nigeria and chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola(APC, Lagos West) has submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to the national secretariat of his party, APC, twenty four hours ahead of the deadline for the submission by all aspirants.

It will be recalled that the senator collected his forms on the first day of the collection of forms last week after paying the relevant fees for the forms.

Speaking shortly after the submission of the forms to the Director of Administration of APC Alhaji Abdullahi Gashua at the national secretariat, Senator Adeola said he is ready for all the processes for his emergence as the candidate of APC to re-contest for the senatorial seat of the nation’s largest senatorial district in terms of population adding that he will continue to effectively represent the interest of the district and Lagos State in the Red Chamber.

“I want to believe by all objective standards, I am most suitable and qualified to again represent this large senatorial district. As a legislator for almost 16 years consecutively from the state legislature to the Federal House of Representatives and now in the Senate, I see myself as the most qualified in terms of cogent experience for the benefit of not only my constituents but the nation as it is generally acknowledged that experience enriches the process of law making and other legislative functions” he stated.

Senator Adeola said that as a senator of the 8th Senate, he is one of the senator’s with highest number of bills sponsorship with 15 bills to his credit, two of which were passed as part of the Constitutional Amendment Bills adding that his major legislative agenda is to seek amendments of archaic and outdated laws as well as continue the struggle for Lagos State to be granted special status by the Nigeria federation as the former capital and economic nerve centre.

“ In the area of oversight I lay claim to three motions that had led to investigative activities of the Senate Ad Hoc Committees and standing committee respectively in the area of misuse of Federal Government Generated Revenue, Local Content Law infractions and the near collapse of the GSM service provider, Etisalat owing to un-repaid multi-million dollar syndicated  loan. I have also had empowerment and poverty alleviation programmes that impacted positively on thousands of constituents” he stated.
