It’s only four days into 2017 but, so far, Janet Jackson is having a stellar year. That’s because the pop icon and her husband Wissam Al Mana have just welcomed their first baby, a son named Eissa Al Mana. Jackson gave birth to her baby boy yesterday, December 3, People confirms.
“Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably,” a rep told People. That is excellent news, especially since Jackson delivered Eissa at 50 years old, an age that’s past the fertility cutoff for many women (the average age of menopause for women in the U.S. hovers at 51 years old).
Jackson revealed her pregnancy late last year, stating that she needed to “rest up” with “doctor’s orders” when she cancelled the remainder of her Unbreakable Tour.
Now that her family includes a precious baby son, it might not be long until Janet Jackson makes her first post-pregnancy appearance. When she postponed her tour, she told fans that it wouldn’t be long until she hits the road again. “I have not forgotten about you,” she told fans in a video message, shared below. “I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.
