Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero Is Dead
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, is dead.
Sources said Bayero, who has been ill for a few years, died on Friday morning.
The annual Durbar celebrated by the Kano Emirate during Sallah, had been cancelled in the last few years because of the ill-health of the Emir.
It worsened last year after an attack on his convoy by members of the Boko Haram sect.
He is to be buried according to Islamic rites on Friday (today).
