MANCHESTER UNITED are set to clinch a permanent deal for Radamel Falcao soon, according to reports in Spain.
Falcao joined United on a season-long loan deal, but persistent fitness problems have raised speculation over whether he will stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer.
Spanish paper Marca claims the United hierarchy will exercise their option to secure a permanent deal for Falcao.
They claim that a £44m deal will be concluded soon, as there are no other underlying fitness issues at the moment.
It is also thought Louis van Gaal has given his seal of approval for the move to go ahead after Falcao’s parent club, Monaco, have already held talks with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes.
