Aisha Buhari Makes Case For Women & Children Healthcare In New York

African first ladies across the world are in New York to access and modify effective means of contributing to the Millenium Development Goals and new perspectives on ways of contributing and improving the reduction of HIV & AIDS in African Countries.

Wife of Nigeria’s President, Hajia Aisha Buhari who was represented by the wife of the senate president, Toyin Saraki said that in the eye of the current insurgency and the lack of adequate health care for women and children affected by the insurgency who now live in internally displaced camps, the need for their health care becomes paramount.

She affirms the need to continually do more especially in the areas of maternal health and child mortality.

The issues of investing adequately in women and girls in the context of the post 2015 agenda was addressed by the executive director of UNFPA, Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin who says girl child education remains key to the development framework all over Africa.’
