We Won’t Give You Governorship Ticket ~ Ogun PDP Tells Hon. Akinlade

First Bank Nigeria

Hon. Abiodun Akinlade is in serious dilemma. And this stems from his search for a credible political party which he would prosecute his 2015 governorship ambition in Ogun State.
It is a widely known fact in Ogun State that Hon. Abiodun Akinlade who is an APC member and currently the Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology has been campaigning vigorously to be the next governor of the state, whipping up sentiments that the senatorial district where he hails from (Ogun West) has never been given the opportunity to govern the state since it was created in 1976.
Hon. Akinlade who represents   Yewa South/Ipokia  Federal Constituency              in the National Assembly knowing fully well that his governorship ambition gate has been locked against him in the ruling party (APC), with incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun’s desperation for a second term ticket has been sponsoring the Labour Party in the state, hoping he would emerge the Labour Party governorship candidate.
But his permutations collapsed with the entrance of immediate past governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel with his massive political machinery  into the Labour Party. gathered that Gbenga Daniel, who is the official leader  of Labour Party in the state told Akinlade straight to his face that the ‘Ogun West for Governor’ agenda may not work in the Labour Party, to defeat the incumbent government of the APC.
This, we gathered, did not go down well with Akinlade, and thereafter began to romance the PDP top hierarchy in the state. was told that Akinlade few weeks ago  met with Prince Kashamu Buruji , the leader of PDP in Ogun State.
”We told Akinlade that he should forget the Ogun West agenda. PDP will shop for a credible candidate of  Egba extraction that will defeat Amosun. We might give him the Ogun West Senatorial ticket if he negotiates well. He should forget getting governorship ticket in PDP ” a top official of the Ogun PDP told us.
As things now, we learnt Akinlade is confused on his next line of action, though we heard he is still consulting with his loyalist on his next moves.
