“We Don’t Cordinate Herbs Dealers, But Healthcare Providers,” Says Chairman Alternative Medicine

The Chairman, Alternate Medicine Board, Ogun state chapter Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye has said that the board was not necessarily created to coordinate the congregations of people dealing with herbs, but to accommodate everyone that provides healthcare services in other ways different from orthodox method.

He stated this in a statement made available to newsmen by the board Press Officer, Dolapo Jinad in Abeokuta, state capital.

Olaleye, who led other members of the board on a courtesy visit to the Spiritual Head, Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, Reverend/Pastor Emmanuel Oshoffa, at his residence in Imeko, Imeko Afon Local Government Area, Ogun State used the occasion to explained the activities of the board.

He stated that the visit of the board to Reverend Oshoffa was essential due to its involvement in the provision of spiritual healings, while expressing the state government’s support for all the practitioners including churches.

The chairman declared that “The Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration is determined to transform every region within the state without marginalising any profession, and they too should be alive to their responsibilities as good citizens.”

In his response, the Head of Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide pledged for cooperation with the board, urging government not to relent in improving the sub-sector for better performance.

His words: “We are very happy and proud to be part of success story of Ogun State Alternate Medicine practice, and I want us to know that it is not a new thing to the Western World, by transforming herbs and other gift of nature to profitable venture for their economic growth.

“I appreciate the present administration in the state for recognising us in Celestial Church, by bringing government’s programme to us for the first time,” he said.

Also, in their respective contributions, Superior Evangelists Ademola Oluwasegun and David Ogini lauded the effort of the board to collate data base of practitioners, saying the development would enable people have more options to access affordable healthcare services and bring sanity to activities of members.
