Hon. Solomom AdeolaAgainst the background of violent attacks against members of All Progressives Congress APC in his senatorial district resulting in at least one death and serious body injuries to several person by supporters of the major opposition party in Lagos West Senatorial District, Hon, Solomon Adeola the APC Senatorial candidate for Lagos West has called on all eligible voters not to be intimidated but to exercise theirs democratic right of electing their leaders.

Speaking at a Town hall meeting with stakeholders at Oshodi Isolo LGA, the House of Representatives Committee chairman on Public Accounts said that voters should go out to vote and defend their votes as well as themselves adding that no amount of intimidation can suppress people’s power expressed in the exercise of their franchise.

“I urge you all to go out on the day of election to vote for the candidates of your choice and defend your votes to ensure that it counts. The use of thugs and Police to intimidate prospective voters clearly indicates that those involved in it are anti people and the people must rise up to the occasion by using their voting power to reject those engaged in violence as part of their electoral campaign”  Adeola said.

Adeola said the party using violence and intimidation has already been rejected by the people and their mode of campaign is indicative of a desperation to win election through foul means instead of persuading the people based on their records and what they intend to do while in office adding that the posting of the controversial Mr. Joseph Mbu as AIG for Lagos and Ogun maybe part of game plan to intimidate the electorate.

He told the stakeholders including traditional rulers, market men and women, community development associations, artisans group and road transport workers that he will fight for the expansion of Oshodi Express Road as well as attract requested projects from the Federal government adding that the neglect of Lagos state in development by the FG is deliberate and partisan.

Earlier Alhaji Jamiu Ajanaku, the Asalu of Isolo speaking on behalf of all traditional rulers commended the APC candidate for his face to face meeting and consultative approach which no other candidate is doing adding that he should remember to attend to the welfare of traditional rulers in the district as he is reputed to doing in Alimosho where he currently represents.
