Tony Elumelu Foundation Releases Documentary Of TEEP’s Groundbreaking 1st Year
The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) announces the digital release of the documentary filmTony Elumelu Entrepreneurs: Transforming Africa.
The film tells the story of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP), the Foundation’s decade-long commitment of $100 million to empower 10,000 entrepreneurs from all of Africa, to create jobs and generate wealth.
TEF Founder, Tony O. Elumelu, CON, commented: “I am deeply proud of what we accomplished in TEEP’s first year. We funded entrepreneurs, established networks and helped extraordinary people take control of their destinies and we did it on an incredible scale. This film is a depiction of Africans telling our own stories as we spur innovative and economic development on the continent.”
According to Parminder Vir OBE, Foundation’s CEO,“Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs: Transforming Africa is a documentary that tells the story of one man’s vision to harness the ingenuity and creativity of Africa’s entrepreneurs and once refined, unleash it as an engine of growth on the continent.”
This year, over 45,000 entrepreneurs from 54 African countries applied for the second round of TEEP, more than doubling the number of applications received in 2015. Subsequent films in the series will explore the impact of these entrepreneurs in creating jobs and innovation that is solving key issues.
