The much talked about 3 in 1 book written on the immediate past governor of Lagos state, Mr.Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN)’s administration and thought by his Special Adviser on Media, Hakeem Bello through out his 8years glorious and unequal governance was launched yesterday Tuesday, 18th August, 2015 at Muson center, Lagos
Mr.Fola Adeola, the former managing director of GTbank in his speech as Chairman of the occasion saluted the courage of the people present saying,”bravity makes some people to be here”. He then directed his message to the former governor that, “your friends are here, no contract award, but we are here because you are our friend”. He then prayed that we will not wait for a long time before we have another Fashola.
The Chairman of the occasion related his experience when he visited his friend in Kano sometimes ago, he said, ‘when Rabiu kwankwaso won for the second time, after few months, I went to Kano and asked one of my friends there, an indigene of Kano that how was the governor doing? He answered, Kwankwaso was doing Fashola in Kano. This means kwankwaso was fixing roads, hospitals, infrastructure etc like Fashola in Lagos.
Fola Adeola described people present as being bold, proud, and brave but he was quick to add that “we are not the enemy of anybody”.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was ably represented by Prof.Tunde Samuel delivered Asiwaju’s message which was full of praises to former governor Fashola, he said Asiwaju was exceedingly happy to reflect on Fashola’s performance, whatever you do today is an assurance for tomorrow. He went to reminiscence when they were in in the cabinet of Asiwaju, in which Fashola was Chief of Staff, Prof.Tunde Samuel included that when others were gisting, Fashola will be romancing hills of file in high wire political engineering.
He said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a valid decision in bringing Fashola up first as Chief of Staff, then two term governor, concluded that the sky is the limit for former governor Fashola.
Former governor Fashola’s remark, he x-ray his relationship with the author Hakeem Bello which dated back to 2006 before his emergency as ACN governorship candidate, described Hakeem Bello his special adviser on media for 8years as professional to the core, diligent, forthright and hardworking which he said we all can learn from. He thanked him for standing by him to the extent of making friends for him.
Fashola now related his experience during the blown down of bank of industry (BOI) collapsed building and important of data base. He related how late yar’dua the then president of Nigeria gave approval for the blow down of the building as against the antagonistic attitude of his party in Lagos state.
