Solomon Adeola (YAYI) Elected APC Senatorial Candidate For Lagos West

olamilekan-picture-1The House of Representative Committee Chairman of Public Accounts Hon Solomon Olamilekan Adeola  was in the early hours of today(9-12-14) elected as the All Progressives Congress, APC Senatorial candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District in Lagos State.

In contested primaries between four aspirants of APC at Agege Stadium, the Alimosho Federal Constituency representative, Hon Adeola scored a total number of 4287 votes to defeat former Minister Mr. Demola Seriki who came a distance second with 247 votes while Mr. Enoch Ajiboso garnered 149 votes for the position of second runner up. Mr. Samuel Whesu came last with 78 votes.

While announcing the results and declaring the winner  the chairman of the
electoral panel Mr. Alabi Mactfoy who said that 5399 voters were accredited with 4864 votes casted and 4671 valid votes adding that 103 votes were voided.

Before the primary, the deputy governor of Lagos state, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulure, Mrs Kemi Obasa and Mr. Kamal Bayewu stepped down in the race.

In his acceptance speech after being declared winner, Hon Adeola commended the APC and its officials at all levels for practicing true and genuine internal democracy through the organization of peaceful and transparent primaries for elective positions.

Hon. Adeola said Lagos West representing 51% of the entire mega city of Lagos is faced with many developmental challenges in the area of infrastructure development, employment generation and adequate and accessible health care that the Federal Government has done little to addressed adding that as an elected senator after the general election, he intends to pursue a legislative agenda that will seek to address these challenges through legislations that recognizes the status of the district and indeed Lagos State.
