Segun Awolowo Battles Jonathan Over Osinbajo, Threatens To Resign As NEPC Boss

First Bank Nigeria

segun awolowoThe scion of the Awolowo dynasty, Mr Segun Awolowo is currently battling some elements in the presidency, yemojanewsng.com can authoritatively reveal.
A reliable source told us that some powerful aides of President Goodluck Jonathan are not comfortable with Segun Awolowo as the chief Executive officer of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
We learnt trouble started between Segun Awolowo and the cabal in Aso Rock after professor Yemi Osinbajo was picked by the National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the running mate of the APC presidential candidate, General Mohammed Buhari.
‘’After Osinbajo was picked as Buhari’s running mate, the Jonathan camp knew it will be easy to sell Buhari/Osinbajo ticket to the Yoruba people because Osinbajo is married to Awolowo’s daughter. Awolowo’s name will be the selling point. But the Jonathan people will have none of it because there is another Awolowo who is in this present government as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council. So they now hatched a plan’’.
The source informed us further that the plan was for Segun Awolowo to issue press statements or grant media interviews to discredit Yemi Osinbajo.
‘’Segun Awolowo refused. He maintained he could not do anything against a member of his family, since Osinbajo’s wife, Dolapo is his own cousin. That was what triggered the frosty relationship between Segun Awolowo and the presidency. After much pressure, Segun said he was going to resign his plum appointment as NEPC boss if the Jonathan cabal does not back off’’.
Our sources told us that right now, Segun Awolowo is not having it good with the presidency and may resign any moment.
Our reporter sent a text to Mr Segun Awolowo to confirm if he would resign or not, but he ignored our enquiries.
