Pastor E. A Adeboye’s led church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God through its provincial headquarters in Lagos Island has canceled a 3-day outdoor crusade of one of it’s parishes and suspended the pastor in charge alongside the organizing committee of the crusade programme.
According to our source, the cancellation of the event was as a result of the criticism that trailed the invitation of the Fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma as a guest artist of the crusade. It would be recalled that Paso’s picture and the pictures of the duo of the gospel singer, Tope Alabi and Kereke Jike, the former band leader of the late Fela Anikulapo’s Egypt 80 appeared on the handbill advert.

Our informants revealed that the church headquarters decided to stop the programme because it felt that idea of bringing Pasuma and his fans to the church was ill- conceived and the organizers did not do a detailed consultation before going ahead with the program because a church was seriously criticized recently for inviting a secular singer of Mavin Records Korede Bello to perform his hit single “Godwin” during a Sunday service. Based on this development, the pastor in-charge of this parish has been suspended alongside the organizing committee of the program as they await the verdict of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Headquarters for dragging the name of the church in the mud.

The Crusade organized by Province 20 which was tagged ‘Lagos Island Family Areas Forum’ was supposed to feature pastor Keji Hamilton was schedule for Friday 23rd October to Sunday 25th October 2015.
Our source further revealed that the leakage of the printed flyers and handbills for the church crusade was done by one of the fans of the Orobokibo crooner who works at the press were the flyers and posters were being printed.
