Pastor Temitope Joshua, the Man of God who is touching the lives of many financially and spiritually through his Synagogue Church Of All Nations has moved a step further at joining the big league of Nigerian Pastors with the acquisition of his own private jet.Though the jet’s arrival is a hush hush affair even within the inner circles of the Church, we have it on good authority that it arrived some months back and it was bankrolled by many of the Pastor’s foreign worshippers.
The insider who revealed sketchy details to www.thelightnews.com said that the Jet’s arrival could have been announced by Pastor Joshua but for the unfortunate building incident in his church that claimed many lives. However, we are told that Joshua was very excited when the Jet arrived and told some of his close friends the good news.
With the arrival of his Jet, Pastor Joshua will be joining a rich list of Nigerian Pastors who now hardly fly commercial airlines. That list includes: Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners’ Chapel, (who reportedly has two jets) and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor the current National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)
Interestingly, there has been a storm and serious controversy each time news breaks about a man of God taking delivery of a private jet. Each of these jet-owning pastors had had cause to openly explain the reason for such purchase.
The opposition of Nigerians to Pastors acquiring private jets is not new, in the 80s, Pastor Gabriel Oduyemi, who is on record to be the first Nigerian pastor to own a private jet ran into troubled waters for taking such a lavish step-and till his death, he never was able to convince people that it was solely for propagation of the Word of God and not for personal aggrandisement.
