After reportedly serving 15 years in prison for raping and killing a young woman between railway lines near Fynnlands in Durban‚ Pastor Lungisani Mafu has apparently opened up about the incident at the recording of his motivational DVD at Ethekwini Community Church in Durban.
Daily Sun is reporting that he spoke out about the incident‚ claiming that he said he has no memory of what happened.
“I killed an innocent young woman in cold blood. I was dead drunk and I have little recollection of what happened that day.”
While speaking about what happened the pastor‚ who was charged and convicted with other four other people‚ revealed that despite trying to hide from the police they eventually managed to catch him.
“When I woke up in the morning my clothes were still soaked in blood. I went into hiding but the cops eventually nabbed me‚” the paper quotes him as saying.
Mafu claims that he has previously tried to get in contact with the victim’s family so that he could extend his apology‚ however‚ his efforts have since failed.
“I am publicly apologising to the family and all those people that I’ve wronged. Wherever they are‚ they must know I’m very sorry for my actions.”
