Ondo 2016: PDP Describes Jimoh Ibrahim’s Flag Off Campaign In Ore As Dance Of Shame

First Bank Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has described the purported rally held by some self acclaimed PDP members in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo local government of Ondo State on Monday as a sham.

Speaking, the Ondo State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Banji Okunomo said the show was another incidence of some masquerades dancing naked in the public.

He noted that the sham was put up by one Mr Jimoh Ibrahim and some imported participants from Ogun State.

He posited that real members of the PDP in Ondo State did not show up at the charade knowing full well that everything about Jimoh is deceit.

He noted that the few persons who were at the rally wore fez caps and other items bearing ‘Omo-Ilu foundation’, an appellation for Senator Kasamu Buruji from Ogun State.

He also stated that many of the number plates of vehicles that were packed at the venue of the purported rally had Ogun State inscriptions.

His words: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State uses this medium to dissociate itself from a purported rally organised by Jimoh Ibrahim and his cohorts in Ore on Monday in the name of Ondo PDP

“The rally is not only a sham but a further portrait of Jimoh Ibrahim as one who is in for a spoiler’s job in the November 26, 2016 governorship election.

“For those who have been keeping abreast with the activities of the PDP in Ondo State, it would be obvious to them that the purported rally falls from the normal PDP standard.

“Those who attended the rally were also alien to the PDP in Ondo State. It was gathered that many of them were imported from Ogun State.

“We should recall that the scam  described as governorship primary election that produced Jimoh was held in Ibadan, kilometres away from the shores of Ondo State with no presence of all relevant institutions such as INEC, Security agencies, local observers and above all , absence of all relevant delegates of a special PDP Congress in flagrant violation of Section 25 of the PDP Constitution for purposes of electing a governorship candidate.

“Now, when other serious minded governorship candidates of other Parties including the authentic candidate of PDP, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, held their flag off campaigns in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Jimoh took his to Ore, a border town, which is closer to Ogun State and contains people from different parts of the country.

“All these are indications that Jimoh Ibrahim has nothing really to do. And the question that one readily asks is: is this government for Ondo or Ogun State?

“If it is about Ondo, then why all the importation of persons and vehicles from Ogun? The good people of Ondo State should be wary of these schemes and open their eyes wide to elect someone who has their well-being in mind”, he said.

He called on the teeming members and supporters of the PDP in Ondo State to continue to be resolute saying that the PDP with EYITAYO JEGEDE, SAN, would coast to victory at the polls, come what may.
