ambodeAll Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has declared that Nigeria is ready for the CHANGE that the APC represents. He said that prospects of good governance, economic revival and security that the party promises are what Nigerians are yearning for. He said this yesterday at an APC state campaign rally held at the Somolu Local Government Area of the state.

“For the first time in the annals of our history, Nigeria and democracy have found a convergence on the common agenda to rescue Nigeria. This simply proves beyond a doubt that our nation is ready for the APC and the revolutionary governance it promises”.

“The whole country is fired up for Change at the centre, and for a rescue from bad governance. Thankfully, we have the power to do so at this moment, and I am sure we won’t miss this chance”, stated a confident Ambode.

Ambode decried the mismanagement of the economy by the present Federal government, which has caused a further decline in the value and quality of lives of Nigerians, noting that a vote for the APC Presidential candidate will surely reverse this downturn.

“We have seen unprecedented levels of decline in our economy under the present government in Abuja; this is one of the motivating factors that has fueled this momentum for Change all over Nigeria. We will change this government at the centre by voting for General Buhari, and I assure you that our economy will be rescued”. Ambode said.

He added, “Don’t let anyone intimidate your readiness to exercise Change at the Federal level and continuity in Lagos state. Cast your votes, then stay and defend them”.

The Governor of Lagos state, His excellency, Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) was also present at the rally, and he reiterated Ambode’s stance by earnestly imploring the electorates to vote for the APC at all levels to achieve the much-needed rescue.

“At this point in our lives as a nation, we have to exercise our civic rights by voting wisely and ensure the rescue of our home from the clutches of retrogression and non-performance”.

“If you are truly ready to change the way your country has been run, you must exercise that readiness by practically voting for the APC at all levels, starting from the 28th of March. By doing this, you’d have engaged with history in a positive way”, Fashola stated.

However, Ambode and Fashola advised the to electorates shun violence of any sort both before and during the elections. They also took them through the simple steps needed to ensure voter eligibility and verification for the electioneering process on the day, one of which is the thorough cleaning of hands.

While restating his sworn commitment to ensure continuity of excellence in Lagos state, Ambode echoed the importance of his experience and competence in making that happen.

In his words, “Lagos is the centre of excellence, and I am that excellent administrator this state needs to take it to the next level. We will not entertain experimentation at the expense of experience.

“I’ve lived among all of you, I know you and you actually know me, and this is the difference between me and other candidates in this election. I implore you to stick to continuity by voting for experience.”

He said the party is also ready to take Lagos state higher, as he enumerated plans and programmes already set-up to empower, prosper and elevate Lagosians in the next four years.

Governor Fashola also urged the Somolu crowd that gathered at the rally to vote for Ambode, noting that it would simply complete and complement their efforts already shown on the 28th of March for General Muhammadu and other APC candidates.

He said, “In the past 8 years, we’ve been visiting, developing and improving Somolu, if you need that to continue, vote for Ambode, a man who has been part of that growth and excellence you’ve all seen here”.
