There are strong indications that thousands of  supporters of the current National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and  former Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu, may be considering an option to dump the party to APC in the state.

This was contained in a press statement  signed by  Alhaji Suleiman Sabo, National Secretary, Ahmadu Mua’zu for National Chairman PDP 2012.
The statement, which was made available to THISDAY yesterday read: “We the campaign organisation of Ahmadu Mau’zu for National chairman 2012 and thousands of our supporters in Bauchi State hereby declare our rejection for the support as a result of  incompetency and incapability to deliver the party (PDP).”

Yaro added that the PDP as a political party made serious mistakes to have given the former governor the mandate to run the affairs of the PDP even when he was incapable.

The forum, according to the statement, was making wide consultations with its  36 states branches and Abuja to pave the way for soft landing to the APC which he describe as an option for effecting inevitable change in leadership trend in the country.

Yaro attributed the defection of Mu’azu’s former associates  to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as not only a colossal lost to the party, but to demonstrate Mu’azu’s failure as a leader.
The national secretary wondered why the opposition APC was the most popular party in Mua’zu’s Bauchi State constituencies in such as Dass,Tafawa-Balewa and Bogoro through the influence of Hon.

Yakubu Dogara who also dumped the PDP recently.
“What do you expect of a national chairman of the PDP who is going round the states of the federation seeking for reconciliation while his state Bauchi, and his immediate federal constituency is captured by the APC”, Yaro lamented.

The forum expressed dissatisfaction that the national PDP chairman had  abandoned those that canvassed support for his chairmanship in 2012 and embraced nonentities as agents.
“Very soon the forum will declare its mission for defecting to the opposition APC with thousands of supporters and the occasion will be  held in Abuja,” Yaro pointed out.

When contacted over the issue, a loyalist of the  PDP national chairman and a former Commissioner of Sport during Mua’zu’s regime, Alhaji Sani Toro, said he contacted the forum to stop the clandestine moves, urging them to give him more time to intervene and wondered how they jumped to the  press.

Toro, who admitted knowledge of the forum’s threats, however, described their action as one of the beauty of democracy, saying the forum was one of the  pedals of Mua’zu’s triumph as PDP national chairman.

Mua’zu had on  January 15, 2012 written to the forum, signifying his intention to contest for the national chairman of the PDP, and seeking the forum’s support.
