Anthony Anwukah, minister of state for education, has been flown to the US for medical treatment.
Adamu Adamu, minister of education, disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
He, however, did not reveal the ailment Anwukah is being treated for.
“Please permit me to ask us to say a minute prayer for the minister of state who is away in the US to receive medical treatment for an illness,” Adamu said at the briefing which was to commemorate the 2017 World Teachers’ Day.
Unconfirmed reports have it that Anwukah attended the federal executive council meeting two weeks ago wearing a cervical collar.
The minister’s medical trip abroad is coming less than two months after President Muhammadu Buhari returned from a similar trip in the UK.
The president returned to Nigeria on August 19, after spending 104 days in London
