LAGOS ASSEMBLY 2015: HOW LAGBAJA WAS DISGRACED BY APC LEADERS…Loses Party Ticket to Bola Tinubu’s Nephew
After he was nearly screened out by the leaders of the All Progressive Congress leaders, from participating in the recently concluded primaries for the Lagos State House of Assembly, world renowned cross-over artiste, Lagbaja was disgraced by the party leaders when they made sure that a relatively unknown party member, Mr Damola Kasunmu triumphed over the Afro-Pop music icon at the contest held on Tuesday, December 2, 2015.YEMOJANEWS can reveal authoritatively that it took the intervention of some influential party members before Mr Bisade Ologunde, who is better known on the music stage as Lagbaja Omo Baba Mukomuko was finally screened-in to participate in the APC mock contest.
The over-zealous screening committee members, we gathered, had screened out Lagbaja before the intervention of some top notch of the party, who vehemently insisted that he’s the most qualified among the aspirants for the Ikeja Constituency 01 of the Lagos state house of assembly. But, some of the party leaders, who are said to be courting the favor of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the party, had argued that there’s no way under the sun that nephew of the former Lagos governor would lose the party ticket to another aspirant no matter the pedigree, status and qualification of such contender. And, in their machination to actualize the plot, they allegedly lied to the party delegates that the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu had directed that whoever who still want to maintain his or her status in the party must vote for his nephew or leave the party for him.
Political insiders told YEMOJANEWS that before most of the delegates realized that what the leaders had told them was ‘ziggy’ [Lies], they had casted their votes for Mr Damola Kasunmu. Many of the delegates became embittered, but, it was too late to reverse their actions. One of the leaders was heard saying that they had taught the delegates of how to play political snooker.
Damola Kasunmu, the Proprietor of the Moribund Modupe Memorial Group of Schools, the Magodo [Lagos] based hitherto flourishing school that he inherited from his late mother, Mrs Abiodun Arafat Kasunmu, is now the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress [APC] for the Ikeja Constituency 01 in the coming general elections.
