Women Leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas has promised that women in the state would give the Governorship candidate of the party in the state, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu 100% support in the 2019 general elections.
Speaking during a visit to the wife of Mr. Sanwoolu, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwoolu at their family residence in Ikoyi, Lagos recently, Okoya-Thomas stated that the women in the state were fully prepared for the election.
The Women Leader assured Dr. Sanwoolu that arrangements have been concluded to mobilise the female members of the party, market women, traders, residents and the teeming female supporters of the party in the state to vote enmasse for Mr. Sanwoolu and the APC in the 2019 polls.
According to her; “Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu has all the qualities needed to move the state forward after the monumental developments achieved by the successive Govenors of the state since 1999 from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
“We have been mobilising the womenfolk to support Mr. Sanwoolu and ensure his victory at the polls. They have assured us of their supports and we will not relent in our efforts of mobilising for our party in the 2019 general elections.
“There is no doubt that Mr. Sanwoolu is experienced and knowledgeable to steer the ship of Lagos State from 2019 and with God on our side, he would be sworn-in as the next Governor of Lagos State on May 29, 2019.”
Okoya-Thomas later told newsmen after the visit that she has a conviction that Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu is the kind of person the state needed now after “the monumental developments witnessed by the state in the last 19 years under the progressives.”
“Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu is widely regarded as a public sector expert in human resources and policy formation, a power sector consultant per excellence, an astute banker, a compelling public speaker and an inspirational leader.
“He has had a robust public sector service experience which spanned over eight years during which he was Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Commissioner for Budget and Planning and Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Lagos State, at different times.
“He has an enviable background in the private sector and close to ten years of exemplary banking experience during which he contributed immensely to the growth and development of Lead Bank Plc, UBA, and First Atlantic Bank (now First City Monument Bank) in various critical capacities,” she said.
The Women Leader stressed that the leaders of the APC and its members did not make a mistake in choosing Mr. Sanwoolu to compete for the coveted office at the polls in 2019, and that residents of the state could not afford to allow a charlatan to take over power from the progressives.
Okoya-Thomas promised that she would do all within her power to ensure that the women in the state, including APC members, market women, traders, artisans, professionals as well as civil servants troop out enmasse to cast their votes for Mr. Sanwoolu and the APC in 2019.
She insisted that if Mr. Sanwoolu is elected as the next Governor of Lagos State, then the state would be in a safer hand and that it would achieve better and massive developments within four years.
