Gbenga Daniel nominated chairman, Nigeria-Finland Business Council

Former Governor of Ogun State and Chairman, Kresta Laurel Limited, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has been nominated as the Chairman of Nigerian-Finland Business Council.

Daniel’s company, Kresta Laurel, received the ISO 9000 certification earlier this year for international best practices, thus becoming the only Nigerian company to be so certified in the industry.

In a similar development, Kresta Laurel Limited has also been named the best KONE distributor in the world.

Kresta Laurel Ltd was founded in 1990 when it was appointed the Sole Distributor of Sabien Elevators, Demag Cranes and components, as well as Mannesmann Cleaning cradles.

By 1991, the company got the contract to supply and install the first Panoramic Elevators in Nigeria for African International Bank (AIB), Victoria Island, Lagos.
And in 1998, the company’s headquatres Kresta Laurel Complex was completed in Maryland in Lagos.

By 1999, the company was appointed the Sole Distributor of KONE Elevators in Nigeria; while in 2001, it commissioned one of the biggest Elevator projects at that time which was the supply and installation of 16 units of elevators, 2 Escalators and W Dumbwaiter at CBN headquarters in Abuja.

By 2004, the company had acquired it’s company site in Abuja Central Busines District; and in 2008, Kresta Laurel Ltd got the contract for the replacement of existing Elevators in UBA and Shell Headquatres in Marina, Lagos.

In 2010, KKL got the Agency of Allis Electric Company (AEC) International SRL of Italy, manufacturers of Industrial Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems; while it got the Agency of CoxGomyl of Spain, manufacturers of Building Facade Equipment and became the BEST KONE Distributor in the WORLD all in 2013.

By 2014, Kresta Laurel Ltd became the FIRST and ONLY ISO 9001:2008 Certified Elevator and Crane Company in Nigeria. The only one so far. And same year, beating its own earlier record, it got the biggest Lift Project in Nigeria with the installation of 51 Elevators, 19 Escalators and 3 Autowalks for the International Airports in Lagos and Abuja.
