FCMB Holds Media Parley/Seminar In Lagos

For top online media practitioners in Lagos, all road led to The George Hotel, situated at no. 30, Lugard Avenue, adjacent Glover Road, Ikoyi Lagos where First City Monument Bank (FCMB) held media parley/Seminar with the theme, “Stimulating Responsible New Media Journalism; A pathway to International Recognition”.

parley 2The event, which was held on Tuesday 29th September, 2015 had the award winning journalist and expert in New Media Journalism, Mr. Inigo Glimore from United Kingdom, as Guest Speaker, the GMD/CEO of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Mr. Ladi Balogun said that the bank organized the media parley/workshop as part of it’s contribution towards enhancing the skills and competence of journalists to enable them carry out their jobs in a more professional manner, which will go a long way to develop the country.

parley 3Mr. Ladi Balogun stressed that FCMB believes that the media should be fair, responsible, independent and accountable through which, the media industry and it’s practitioner  would be able to realize their aspirations and add significant value to national development.

parley 4Other guest speakers who were at the event included Dr. Larry Izamoje, Mrs. Adesewa Onyenokwe and Mr. Martins Onoja, the Editor of Guardian newspaper who posited that the media has a key role to play in the well being of the country.

parley 5The guest speakers advised media practitioners, especially those in online platforms, to effectively and positively harness the opportunities provided by latest technologies while discharging their duties and try as much as possible to be factual and make truth their watchword if they want to be relevant and excel in their chosen career.
