The governor of Lagos State, Raji Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has made a donation of a whooping 4 billion naira to the campaign structure of the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate of Lagos State in next months’s election, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.
A source within the power circle of Lagos State informed yemojanews.ng.com that Fashola dropped the cash few weeks ago.
Though, we could not confirm if the staggering amount was from Fashola’s personal fund or the Lagos State fund, what we were told was that the Ambode campaign organisation had made a request of 7 billion naira to prosecute the election effectively.
“Out of the seven billion naira they requested, Fashola made available four billion naira and took over all other expenses like branding of campaign vehicles, placing of Newspaper adverts, Television and Radio commercial jingles as well as billboard placements.
”He didn’t want to give the politicians money for all these things. So he did them himself. Fashola said they should make use of the 4 billion naira judiciary.” Our source informed.
We contacted several source at the Ambode Campaign Organisation to give credence to the information, but none wanted to comment on the donation.
