In a rare display of empowering the youth of his constituency, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Babatunde Ogunola has given out over fifty tricycles (Keke NAPEP) to jobless youth to start transportation business.
Hon. Ogunola, popularly called ‘Tomo’, represented Ado-Odo/Ota federal constituency in the seventh National Assembly as attempt to seek reelection into the green chambers in the 2015 general election was not successful because of the internal squabble that rocked his original political party All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun State.
Ogunola, had pitched his tent with the Chief Olusegun Osoba’s group of the APC which later moved to a newly formed Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he eventually contested for the same seat, but lost.
However, despite his loss at the polls. Hon. Ogunola last week decided to give out the tricycles which he bought with his private fund to empower the youths in Ado-Odo/Ota federal constituency.
“Hon. Tomo has shown that it is not only when you are in office only that you can help people. He could have returned the tricycle and collect his money back, since he didn’t get re-elected, but he didn’t do that.  We will continue to pray for him in his future political endeavors.” One of the beneficiaries told yemojanewsng.com.
Meanwhile, a source close to the politician informed us that the 50 tricycles that have been given out are the first batch, and another sets of beneficiaries will be announced in the next few weeks.
