EFCC Set To Probe CBN N30billion Parking Lot Contract To Isa Funtua

..... Buhari's PA, Sabiu "Tunde" Also Fingered!

First Bank Nigeria
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has said it would launch a full-scale investigation once petitions backed with documentary evidence on the N30billion Parking lot extension contract awarded by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to Bulet International owned by Ismailia Isa Funtua, is received.

Pointblanknews.com had exclusively reported how few weeks to the 2019 general elections, Bulet International owned by Funtua, a member of the Buhari’s cabal, was curiously awarded the N30billion contract to expand the Parking lot at the CBN headquarters.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that several other companies belonging to some members of the Buhari cabal such as Sabiu Tunde Yusuf, a Personal Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari, and others, were awarded contracts ranging from N10billion, N25billion and N27billion respectively.

The contracts were unilaterally awarded by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, without tenders, according to sources at the apex bank familiar with the deal.

Tony Orilade, spokesman of the EFCC, told Pointblanknews.com that the commission would investigate once a petition is received.

“I am not aware of such contract and have not seen contract documents, if any…as soon as I have details on the subject matter, be rest assured of appropriate response,” Orilade told Pointblanknews.com when asked about the deal.

But Daniel Oparaku, a Public Affairs commentator disagreed with the EFCC, saying the anti-graft agency would not have the capacity to investigate once those involved are members of the Buhari cabal.

“I really do not think the EFCC can investigate. The people involved are members of the Cabal and as long as the Buhari’s Government is concerned, the are the untouchables, they can do no wrong, Oparaku told Pointblanknews.com.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that Funtua and “Tunde” and other members of the cabal control the CBN and determine who gets any contracts from the apex Bank.

“The Director of Procurement in CBN is just a figure head. He doesn’t even know what contracts goes out. The CBN Governor takes directives from Funtua or Tunde or any member of the Cabal and personally signs the contract papers”, an insider at the CBN told Pointblanknews.com

However, sources told pointblanknews.com that the contract which violated all known procurement Act, was secretly awarded to Bulet International without the knowledge of the late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

While sources at the apex bank are not sure if the full amount have been paid to the contractor, they said the contractor has only started minimal work on site.

According to our sources, when some CBN officials hinted late Kyari about the curious scandalous contract award, the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was immediately summoned to the Presidency by Kyari.

Pointblanknews.com sources who wish to remain anonymous, hinted that Emefiele confirmed to the late Chief of Staff that indeed the contract was awarded. He explained, according to the source, that Bulet International won the bid for the contract.

Although several CBN contractors spoken to said they were not aware of a tender and the process that led to the award of the car park extension contract. Some said even if there was such, it may have been made exclusively for Bulet International.

Bulet International limited is owned by Ismaila Isa Funtua. Funtua is a top-level member of the Buhari cabal who ensured that Emefiele got his confirmation for a second term as CBN Governor.

Sources say Funtua controls the forex policy of the CBN and gets whatever amount of any currency he wants. He also tells Emefiele who to give and it’s done.

Majority of the Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, housing one of the largest BDCs in Nigeria said, “If you want dollars at lowest exchange rate, call Funtua.”

In fact, a man who preferred to be identified as ‘Alhaji’ told Daily Mail, “Baba Funtua is Mr CBN dollars,” laughing sheepishly.

Keystone Bank and 9Mobile were acquired in controversial circumstances by Funtua, via the instrumentality of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

AMCON is headed by Ahmed Kuru, Funtua’s son in-law.

Prior to the emergence of President Mohammadu Buhari, Bulet was almost going bankrupt. In fact, in 2014, the construction company was dragged to court following its non-payment of a loan amounting to nearly N7bn owed Unity Bank Plc.

Bulet International responded by instituting a N100 billion libel suit against Unity Bank Plc, claiming that while parties were awaiting a court ruling on the matter, the bank proceeded to publish public notices and articles in numerous newspapers as well as on its Internet outlets specifically addressed to the CBN, containing list of its alleged debtors.

Spokesman of the CBN, Isaac Okoroafor, could not be reached for comment. The phone number listed for Bulet International was also not reachable
