Dokpesi Leaves Kuje Prison After Meeting Bail Conditions

The erstwhile Chairman of DAAR Communication Plc, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has finally regained his freedom last night after perfecting his bail conditions as stipulated by the Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja on Monday, December 14, 2015.

The court registrar who verified the landed documents of his trustees at the AGIS confirmed the validity of the ownership of the properties put forwards by the Trustees.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole after the confirmation, subsequently signed for the final of Dokpesi from Kuje Prison, having been satisfied that bail conditions have been met as ordered by his Court.

Justice Kolawole had on Monday granted the Dokpesi bail in the sum of N200m, with two sureties in like sum.

The second one should be an entrepreneur who has paid tax for at least the last three years, and the two sureties must depose to an affidavit of means.

The trial judge also directed the Dokpesi to surrender his international passport, which will only be released to him after application to the court should he be required to travel outside the country.

Furthermore, the Chairman of African Independent Television (AIT) will have to submit himself for any further questioning within the hours of 10a-6pm.
