President of The Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo last Thursday, 30 July, 2015 ordered the sack of the Management and staff of Strategic Business Unit (SBU), one of the numerous departments of Covenant University Business Empire owns by the man of God.
The self acclaimed super rich man of God did not only order the enmass sack of staff and immediately closure of Cafeteria 1&2, Church Restaurant and Cannaland Cuisine, he also directed all the affected staff to vacate the accommodation facilities that serve as staff quarters within 24hours which was Friday 31 July 2015. We learnt over 150 staff were affected by the sack.
Yemojanewsng.com gathered from reliable sources that Bishop Oyedepo had initially ordered the closure of the laundry department in Covenant University Guest House about two weeks ago, and all the laundry staff were relieved of their job.
We learnt the man of God summoned Covenant University top management to an urgent meeting on Friday 31st July 2015. It was during the course of the urgent meeting that he ordered the mass sack of the entire management and staff of the Strategic Business Unit.
According to our source, all the efforts of Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Prof. Ayo Korede  who pleaded on behalf of the entire SBU staff in order to convince the man of God to have a change of mind fell on deaf ears as the billionaire Bishop insisted that they should be relived of their jobs saying, “sack all of them, they are all thieves.”
At the end of the meeting which lasted for several hours, all the staff were ordered to submit their identity cards as sack letter which stipulated that the affected staff should vacate staff quarters within 24 hours were handed over to them.
When yemojanews visited Canaanland the next day of the incident, hundreds of the affected staff were seen loitering around the cafeteria and Canaanland restaurant to see whether they might be reconsidered by the private body that will be running the affected units. We reliably gathered the departments involved had already been contracted to private individuals based on the agreement that the private company will be paying the man of God a stipulated sum of money on monthly basis.
Moreover, our source also revealed that out of all the units being managed by SBU, it is only Covenant University Guest house that is presently operating, although the laundry department of the guest house had already been shut, and other departmental staff of the guest house are working under pressure due to what our source described as fear of unknown.
