The Champions League trophy is heading back to Barcelona.

Luis Suarez scored the go-ahead goal, and Neymar put the match out of reach, breaking a 1-1 deadlock with a pair of late goals to deliver a fifth European Cup to Barcelona and cap a 3-1 win in the Champions League final in Berlin.

luisenriquetrebleIvan Rakitic opened the scoring with the fourth-earliest goal in Champions League final history, putting home a feed from Andres Iniesta in the fourth minute.

Gianluigi Buffon made a number of top-level saves to keep Juventus in the game, and ex-Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata leveled the score in the 55th minute, switching the momentum to the side of the four-time reigning Serie A champions.

Suarez put home a rebound of a Lionel Messi shot in the 68th minute, though, and Neymar scored with the final kick of the game, capping Barcelona’s second treble after capturing the Spanish league and Copa del Rey titles.

For Xavi, who set a record with his 151st Champions League appearance by coming on for Iniesta and inheriting the captain’s armband, he leaves a champion as he departs for Qatari side Al Sadd.
