2023: Your Ambition To Represent Delta North At NASS Most Welcome, NUJ Tells Ned Nwoko

The Chancellor of the Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko, Delta state, and the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, has been accorded due recognition by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), zone F, which comprises the entire South-South states, as they make him a patron of the union.

As maintained by Patrick Ochei, Delta state secretary of the NUJ, the honour followed a courtesy visit of the union’s zonal leadership, led by the zone F vice president, Comrade Opaka Dokubo, to the legal consultant’s palatial home in Idumuje Ugboko, Aniocha North local government area of Delta state, on Sunday, 20 November, 2022.

Dokubo noted that aside from being a philanthropist, Nwoko is also instrumental in connecting people of different races and colours.

In Dokubo’s words, “Ned Nwoko, apart from being a known philanthropist, has remained a shining star connecting people of different races and colours. We have searched for a suitable individual to make our Patron and having come in contact with Ned Nwoko, we are satisfied he truly fits into our choice.

“We are an indispensable segment of the society which must of necessity establish cordial working relationship with the Prince, aimed at helping in propagating his good natured ideals and leadership towards human and societal developments.

“We are proud of the person you have been to Nigeria in terms of your accomplishments on the Paris Club Refund, Malaria Eradication Project, Sports Development and more.

“Your ambition to represent your people at the Senate is most welcomed, and we will give you the needed support to actualize your dreams of becoming the next Senator to represent Delta North Senatorial District. We are proud of you and you deserve all the support as the rightful candidate for such exalted office.”

The senatorial candidate expressed gratitude and promised eventful engagement with the union. He specifically promised to support the training of journalists from the zone, after the 2023 general elections, to help build the capacity of media practitioners within the South-South zone.
