A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and governorship hopeful, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele, has urged Muslims to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation as they celebrate the end of Ramadan fasting.

Bamidele, a member of the seventh House of Representatives, urged Muslim adherents to always reenact the spirit of holiness, brotherliness and oneness, which they exhibited during the 30 days of Ramadan fasting, for Nigeria to become a model in line with the dream of its founding fathers.

In a statement by his Media Aide, Ahmed Salami, in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, Bamidele appealed to Muslims to always replicate the sacrifices they made during the month of fasting in their daily lives as commanded by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

The APC Chieftain added that sacrificing for the growth and the survival of the country remains the best weapon that can help in reshaping the Nigeria and make it a better place for all.

Bamidele commended the Muslim brothers for their sense of patriotism and utmost belief in one Nigeria, which has sustained the unity of the country this far.

According to him, “What Ramadan reminds us is ability to remain Godly through sacrifices and dedication to Islamic norms and values. And these must reflect in the lives of all Nigerians.

“Nigerians must show love to one another irrespective of diversities in ethnicity, religion, creeds and beliefs. Islam preaches oneness likewise Christianity and if we live by these virtues, Nigeria will be peaceful and more progress shall follow.

Bamidele prayed that Allah would grant their supplications for themselves and Nigeria, having passed through the rigour of fasting and sacrifices as commanded by the Holy Book(Qur’an).

“As we celebrate Ramadan today, I wish all Nigerian Muslims happy celebration and pray that Allah will give us long life to be able to witness more of it”.
