The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has called on its teeming members and supporters to intensify their campaigns and vigorous promotion of the Eyitayo Jegede and John Mafo agenda.

Speaking from Abuja, the PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Banji Okunomo said this is the appropriate time for members of the party to propagate the Eyi/Mafo agenda more vigorously as the November 26 election draws near.

He called on members to engage in house to house, unit to unit, ward to ward and local government to local government campaigns so that more people could come into the fold.

He stated that the party faithfuls have nothing to fear as the PDP’s authentic governorship candidate would soon find his name back on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) list.

His words: “We want the teeming members and supporters of the party to rest assured that victory is very near.

“Now, opportunities abound for all parties to ventilate their own sides of the dispute over who the authentic owner of the PDP governorship ticket is.

“Hence, it cannot be less expected that justice would be done expeditiously unlike what obtained at the lower court where the right to fair hearing was utterly denied.

“Let us remain hopeful that we would be vindicated as judgement is being reserved at the Court of Appeal in the matter connected with the substitution of the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).

“Parties in the dispute, having come before a court of competent and higher jurisdiction (Court of Appeal), windows of escape which allowed for impunity hitherto have now been shut down.

“At this time, with the closure of hearing at the Court of Appeal yesterday and the ruling of court to give final judgement any moment from now, it is imperative that we assure our people that we would be vindicated.

“So, in view of the nearness of the election which is a few days from now, all members of the PDP are hereby directed to intensify their house to house campaign as we do hope that God willing, our party shall coast to victory in the election”, Okunomo said.
