The Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated the new Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Olapeju Ottun, on her recent swearing-in as the 19th and 5th female HoS by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday and signed by the State Assistant Publicity Secretary of the party, Evangelist Olusola Ogunsanya, the party described Ottun’s appointment as “well merited and that was why it drew instant applause from various quarters, especially among the civil servants”.
The party also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for “being gender sensitive, as Ottun’s appointment was the second time a female Hos will be taken over from another female HoS since Ogun State was created 44 years ago”.
“We not only commend Governor Abiodun for giving women more sense of belonging since the inception of his Administration, as he is the only governor in Nigeria with a female deputy governor and two female HoS in succession; and in line with our party’s agenda, we also urge him to continue to open up the democratic space for the women folks.”, the statement added.
Describing the new HOS as a thoroughbred professional and administrator, the party urged her to bring her wealth of experience to bear on the Dapo Abiodun Administration’s developmental objectives for the State, especially in this challenging times”.
