The Nigerian university lecturer who solved a mathematical problem of over a century and a half years old has described the allegation of plagiarism against him as a ploy of the west.

Opeyemi Enoch of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti explained that his present ordeal could be seen in the light that no Blackman has ever won the Nobel Prize in Mathematics, Physics or the sciences.

TVC News Correspondent, Akin Ogunmola reports that the Mathematician said some students called his attention to the mathematical problems on the internet and that he took him about seven years to crack the one now being examined by mathematical authorities in the world.

According to him, he has presented the solution of the same mathematical equation at two different international conferences before the last one in Austria.

He’s therefore challenging his accusers to substantiate their allegation of plagiarism.

The mathematician who said he has won awards locally for one of his inventions also speaks of other inventions yet to be patented.

On the one million dollars to be won for solving the long standing mathematics problem, Opeyemi clarified that the prize money would be paid after two years of review of his solution by the mathematical authority in the United States.
