DJ Switch Blasts Lai Mohammed: ‘How Can Information Minister Be So Misinformed’

DJ Switch, a Nigerian disc jockey who filmed the shooting of protesters in Lekki, has aimed a dig at Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture.

The entertainer was reacting on Tuesday to the controversy that trailed CNN’s recent investigation of the Lekki shooting.

The American cable network had alleged that the army used live bullets on protesters during its intervention in the #EndSARS protests at Lekki toll gate.

Switch had also claimed that at least 15 persons were shot dead on the night of the incident while several others sustained injuries of varying degrees.

The army, however, argued that its men only fired blank bullets into the air to disperse the protesters and that no life was lost.

Speaking on behalf of the federal government, Lai had described the alleged killing at the Lekki toll gate as a “massacre without bodies” while threatening to sanction CNN over “irresponsible reporting”.

The minister also described DJ Switch as a “fraud” and “purveyor of fake news,” who he said will soon be “exposed for who she is”.

Switch, whose real name is Obianuju Udeh, however, took to her Twitter page to ridicule the minister who she described as a “misinformed” person.

The DJ, who was last seen online on October 23, also appreciated Nigerians for their wishes and prayers. She thereafter vowed to remain relentless despite the “bullying” from the government.

“How can a ‘minister of information’ be so ‘misinformed’? The only believable thing about him, is his name…Lai. Unfortunately sir, the truth is a very stubborn thing! Tnk u all 4 ur well wishes & prayers. Its not bn easy 4 me bt d need 2 #SoroSoke is more important than their bullying,” she wrote.
