The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Federal House of Representatives in Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in Ogun State, Hon. Mustapha Adekunle aka Banana has congratulated the standard bearer of the party for the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for picking Governor Patrick Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.

Adekunle, in a statement issued by his media office and which he personally singed, said that Governor Okowa is eminently qualified for the office, adding that he has all the requisite qualifications as a medical doctor and as a performing Governor with good track records.

The politician recalled that Okowa was a commissioner in the state, a former lawmaker and a complete gentleman, saying that all these have prepared him for the coveted for office.

“With the choice of Governor Patrick Okowa as our vice presidential candidate, then we are fully prepared for the 2023 general elections.

“The PDP has come up with the best crop of people and Okowa appears to be the best man for the job.

“Nigerians would prefer our choice of vice presidential candidate from the south compared to the southern presidential candidate of the ruling party, who does not have the vibrancy of someone like Okowa.

“Even in public opinion, the electorates would prefer Governor Okowa to the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the same southern zone,” he said.

Adekunle then enjoined members of the party to support the team of Atiku/Okowa, adding that Nigeria would be repaired if the duo gets to power in 2023.

“We all know the challenges the nation is facing politically, economically and in the area of security since the APC got to power in 2015, they have failed Nigerians and they have nothing more to offer our dear nation.

“Let us take our destiny in our hands and secure the future of this country for the sake of our children and the unborn generation. Vote the PDP from the federal to the state levels and and see what we will do with power,” the statement read.

He then used the opportunity to remind the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency of his plan to go to the Federal House of Representatives, promising to give them the dividends of democracy.

“I know what my people want on development, infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and empowerment. All these I will do and restore the lost glory of the area.

“We are not going there for the fun of it, we want to serve and make life better for our people,” he said.
